h) What is
Physical Education?
Ans. Physical education is a part of
general education. It helps to make all round development of an individual
including physical, mental, moral, emotional and social development etc.
i) What is the
meaning of Insightful learning?
Ans:- Insightful learning refers to
finding a solution to a problem suddenly without repeated testing or continuous
practice. To further broaden its definition, insight learning is the type of
learning in which the individual draws on past experience and also includes a new
way of understanding logical and cause-effect relationships.
j) “We attend
to a small stain on a white wall” — why?
Ans:- "We see a
small stain on a white wall" The psychological reasons are.
k) Write the
formula for finding out Mean by ‘Assumed mean method’.

l) From a batch of

2. Write two problems of secondary education in
Assam. 2
Ans. Some
important problems of secondary education in Assam are –
1)
Lack of propaganda or mass
appeal.
2)
Defective curriculum.
3. Mention two important
impact of Kothari Commission on the secondary education of Assam.

Ans:- Impact of the
recommendations of the Kothari Commission (1964-66) on the development of
secondary education in Assam:-
(i) Educational
structure.
(ii) Establishment
of a link between education and productivity through work experience.
(iii) Three years higher education course leading up to the first degree.
4. ‘All open education is distance
education, but all distance education is not open education.’
Give two reasons. 2
Ans: Open education
refers to an educational organization that seeks to remove barriers to entry
into the world of education and learning. This means eliminating the formal
roles of students and teachers. Distance education, on the other hand, is a
system of education in which there is no face-to-face relationship between
teacher and teacher, but they are connected through correspondence, radio talk,
television or computer.
5. Why non-formal education is called
complementary to formal education?
Write two reasons. 2
Ans:- Non - formal
education is a complementary education to formal education. It develops the
critical thinking of the child and has a broader concept of learning focusing
on practical knowledge.
6. Mention two characteristics of population
education. 2
Ans. Following
are the characteristics of population education –
a)
It is an educational programme
and include in the programme of Human Resource Development.
b)
The scope of population
education is wider than sex education.
7. Write two principles of Environmental
Education. 2
Ans. The following
principles of environmental education are –
a)
Environmental education should
be continuous and never ending process.
b)
Steps should be taken to find
out the causes and sources of environmental problems.
8. Mention with which laws of
learning, the following proverbs are related: 1+1=2
1) Habit is
the second nature.
2) Success
leads to success.
Ans:- Habit is the second nature: It is rightly
said that habit is second nature. It means that if we make a habit of doing
something, it creates a particular pattern of our behavior. That is, what we do
often today, tomorrow we will start doing it forever, and thus the habit will
become part of our natural self.
Success leads to
success: To
be successful you must try very hard to achieve your goals, and this requires
big ideas and a relentless will to make them happen. If you ask a successful
person or motivational coach how to achieve success, their first piece of
advice will be "positive thinking."
9. Mention two differences between learning and maturation. 2
Ans:- Following are the difference between maturation
and learning –
1)
Maturation is primarily based
on heredity, where as learning is primarily based on environment.
2)
Maturation is automatic and
uncontrolled process for bahavioural change. On the other hand learning is
planned and controlled process for the modification of behaviour.
3)
Maturation is related to the
structure and potential capacity. On the other hand learning is related to
activities and experiences.
4)
Maturation is regarded as the
process of growth and development, which takes place within the individual
without any special training, practice or any other type of stimulation. On the
other hand, learning is modification of behaviour, which is a result of some
experience, training and practice and with the help of any other type of
stimulation.
10. Loud voice or noise and glittering
light immediately attract our attention— Explain the reasons. 2
Ans:- Because loud
voice or noise and glittering light is very bad for our health and ears.
11. Write two differences between Polygon and
Histogram. 2
Ans. Some of the
difference between frequency polygon and histogram are as follows –
a)
The frequency polygon is a line
graph of the given frequency distribution. But histogram is a bar graph of the
given frequency distribution.
b)
In a frequency polygon all the
scores within given interval are represented by the midpoint of the interval
while in a histogram the scores are spread uniformly over their intervals.
c)
Frequency polygon gives a much
better conception of the contours of the distribution. But a histogram is
unable to give much better conception of the contours of the distribution.
d)
In comparing two or more distributions
by plotting two or more graphs on the same axis, frequency polygon is more
useful and practicable than histogram.
12. “Forgetting is necessary for
memory” — Give reasons. 2
Ans.
Forgetting is general known as opposite to memory. Forgetting is the inability
to remember or reproducing the past learning image and experiences. It means
the failure of the individual to revive in consciousness the impressions of
past experience without the help of the original stimulus is known as
forgetting.
Following
are the causes of forgetting –
1)
Fleeting Stimulus: If stimulus is
fleeting or indefinite then forgetting may occur.
2) Lapse of time: If there is long gap between retention and revival then forgetting may occur. In the same way the impressions left by experiences in our nervous system gradually disappear in course of time.
