1. What are the components of environment?

Ans: Environment can be divided into three parts.

They are:

(i) Natural Environment: It includes air, water, trees, forests, rivers, plants etc.

(ii) Social Environment: It includes all socio-economic influences. Affecting mankind in terms of population growth, employment, culture etc.

(iii) Man-made environment: It includes villages, cities, institutions, industries, roads, buildings, agriculture, transport etc.

2. What are social values?

Ans: Value education is related to the 'good' of each individual. This education helps in realizing the vision of the society. There are certain values which help in promoting the society to bring efficiency to the Dorians which are called social values. It can be imparted directly or indirectly through family, school, peer group, community, media and general morality of the society.

3. What are the prices? define.

Ans: A value is that which is desired or sought. Values are some guiding principles of life which help in the physical, mental and social development of an individual. They suit one's culture.

4. What is women empowerment?

Ans: Women empowerment emphasizes the importance of increasing their power and taking control of the decisions and issues that shape their lives. Women's empowerment addresses the power and relationships associated with gender, class, race, ethnicity, age, culture, and history in society. Power is identified with equity and equality for women and men in access to resources, participation in decision making and control over the distribution of resources and benefits.

5. Mention three important areas that come under the purview of environmental education.

Ans: Exploitation of population and its effect on the environment. environmental awareness. Standard of living and health status and the impact of the environment on it.

6. Explain the meaning of environmental awareness.

Ans: Environmental awareness means helping social groups and individuals to gain awareness and sensitivity towards the overall environment and its associated problems.

7. Should population education be given in schools? Why?

Ans: Yes, population education. Should be given in school. Population education should start from the elementary classes and continue at the secondary and higher secondary stages. Thus, population education should be a continuous process. It is desirable that even in the primary classes the young children should be made aware of the paucity of resources and the enormity of the demands. As later steps, the idea can be developed and more details introduced, so that the students can accept the learning in a natural way.

8. Discuss the relationship between education and women empowerment.       Exam paper - 2015

Ans: Women empowerment emphasizes the importance of increasing their power and taking control and over decisions and issues that shape their lives. Education, in this context is an important tool. Through providing proper education illiteracy can be removed among the women folk. Education works as an agent in bringing changes in the status of women education make aware regarding their constitutional and legal rights both in work and social life. For inculcating the values of gender equality and gender justice education plays a vital role. So, education and women empowerment have good relationship.
