Solved questions for 2 mark each:

1. Define learning.

Ans: According to Gates, 'learning is the modification of behavior through experience and training.' According to Guilford, 'Any change in behavior resulting from behavior is learning.'

3. Describe laws of use and disuse.       Exam paper -2016

Ans: This law states that when a variable relationship is made between a condition and a response, such is the strength of that relationship, other things being equal, increases. When a variable connection is not made between a condition and a response over a long period of time, the strength of the connection decreases.

4. Mention the two parts of the law of exercise.

Ans: The Law of Exercise has two parts:

(a) Law of usage.

(B) Law of disuse

This law states that when a variable relationship is created between a condition and a response, so is the strength of that relationship, other things being equal. When a variable connection is not made between a condition and a response over a long period of time, the strength of the connection decreases.

5. What is learning?

Ans: The first error is learning more from the point of less reproduction. It helps in retention. However, there may be advantages that diminish with an increase in degree or learning.

6. What is spaced learning?

Ans: Spaced learning is one of the important factors of learning. In this process, the learner can disengage from his/her learning as per the requirement. It will rejuvenate his body and mind to learn in a better way.

7. What is insight?        Exam paper - 2013

Ans: Insight means seeing the connection or meaning in a situation. The practical method of learning is based on the Gestalt principle. Three German psychologists Wertheimer, Kohler and Koffka were the exponents of this theory. According to him learning is an intellectual activity which involves the ability, perception and power of insight of the learner. For them learning is holistic.

8. 'Learning is a process of development' - explain.

Ans: Human beings are helped to learn to adjust and fit themselves in different environments. Learning to make him happier and to live in the environment in a suitable way helps the individual. It teaches him to learn different ways of survival.

9. Name two supporters of Gestalt learning theory.

Ans: Kohler and Koffka have growth when they are equal. When the variable connection is not mad between a condition and the strength of the response decreases over a period of time.

10. What is learning?

Ans: Learning beyond the point of reproducing the first error less It helps in retention. However, there may be less benefit in the form of a degree or an increase in learning.

Ans: Learning is a function of practice – because with practice learning can be made permanent. Learning is possible when the activity is repeated over and over, when it is not cut it is not learned.

17. What is situational stimulation?

Ans: A neutral stimulus which does not elicit any response on first presentation is called condition stimulus.

18. What is unconditioned response?

Ans: Unconditioned stimulus is one which conveys the sense that the response does not depend on any particular condition.
