and new that sprout and spread to provide shelter to the simple sheep.

Keats says that a "paleness" of pain and suffering covers human life
in this world. They are the product of a feeling of hopelessness arising out of

Which image
does the poet use to describe the beauty of the earth? elaborate
Ans: The
poet uses the image of an endless fountain to describe the beautiful bounty of
things. The things of beauty around us are like the immortal drink from the

gifts of nature in the form of "immortal drink" pouring down upon us
from heaven.
6. 'A Thing
of Beauty is a Joy Forever'. wide Exam paper - 2017
A beautiful
thing is always blissful, its beauty increases.
Ans:
According to Keats the object of beauty is the source of lasting pleasure. Its
beauty never fades or fades into nothingness; Rather it goes on increasing with
the passage of time. It keeps 'a bower' ready for us to be comfortable and
peaceful. It also gives us security so that we can enjoy good sleep. Keats says
that such things of beauty include the sun, the moon, and old and young trees,
which sprout and spread their branches to provide shelter within their green
cover to the simple sheep. These things of beauty also include the daffodils
with their green surroundings, streams of clear water forming a cool cover for
themselves against the hot weather and the dense forests of the mid-summer
forest scented with blooming musk-roses. The legends and stories of the mighty
dead who enthral us with their noble deeds are regarded as things of beauty
even by Keats. According to the poet the things of beauty around us are like
'immortal drink' which is a source of everlasting joy for us as 'immortal
drink' from the endless fountain of nature.
7. Explain
the following lines:

Ans:
According to Keats, an object of beauty is a pleasure forever, because its

relief to our painful existence. So, every morning we weave a garland of
flowers to bind us to the beauty of the earth despite all the sorrows. Here
Keats suggests that there is an unbreakable bond that connects man with nature
which is a constant source of beauty and pleasure for him.

Ans:
Here "the pall" refers to the sorrows and sufferings that our life is
