10. In which four ways nutrients might get lost while

Ans:- Here are four ways nutrients can be lost when

Peeling before boiling may increase the loss of vitamin C, folic acid and other
B vitamins.
(ii) Washing:
When vegetables are cut, then washed, and the excess water in which they were
boiled is thrown away, minerals may be lost.

dinners has the expected vegetables, proteins, and grains.
(ii) Choose
healthy options: If you have to bring something to eat at the last minute,
you will probably go out for dinner.
(iii) Eat
high-quality foods: Homemade meals are almost always more nutrient-rich and
loaded with fewer calories, salt, and fat than quickly prepared options at your
grocery store.
(iv) Save
money: Having a meal plan saves you from throwing away forgotten
ingredients in the fridge.
12. How does vaccination help in acquiring immunity? 2

to respond.
13. Why is ORS given to diarrhoea patients? 2
Ans:- Oral rehydration solution (ORS) is used to
treat moderate dehydration caused by diarrhea or vomiting. ORS is made up of
water, glucose, sodium and potassium. The glucose present in ORS helps the
intestines to absorb fluids and salt more efficiently.
ORS does not
stop diarrhea, but it replaces lost fluids and essential salts. It prevents or
treats dehydration and reduces the risk of dehydration.
