Ans:- Spending planning is a plan that helps you meet
expenses and spend money as you want. It is also called budget.

factors affecting the expenditure plan of a family:-

(i) Income:
Total family income determines how much can be spent on various items.
(ii) Family
size: The number of family members determines the expenditure on food and

12. Differentiate between cephalocaudal and proximodistal
sequence of development with the help of an example each. 2
Ans:- Cephalocaudal and proximodistal are two
principles of growth and development. The difference between them is the
direction of development:
(i)
Cephalocaudal: Development starts from the head and goes to the feet. For
example, an infant first gains control of his neck muscles, which help him hold
his head steady.
(ii)
Proximodistal: Development starts from the center of the trunk or body, and
moves outwards to the arms and legs.
(iii)
Cephalocaudal: The greatest development occurs at the top of the body, the
head, and physical development gradually progresses downwards: neck, shoulders,
trunk.
(iv)
Proximodistal: Development starts from the center of the body and moves
towards the extremes.
13. Tell four reasons to your friend to convince her to

14. Tell two advantages of eating sprouted pulses. 2
Ans:- (i) It is easily digestible.
(ii) Sprouting
increases the amount of vitamins and minerals.
(iii) The amount
of Vitamin A doubles.
(iv) B complex
vitamins are increased 5-10 times.
15. Analyse any four reasons of preserving foods. 2
Ans:- There are four reasons for preserving food:-
(i) to extend
their shelf life;
(ii) to prepare
new products from them;
(iii) To prevent
food spoilage and wastage
(iv) To reduce
the quantity of fruits and vegetables so that less space is required for
storage.
