the term 'species'.

species is one of the basic units of biological classification and taxonomic
rank. A species is often defined as the largest group of organisms in which two
individuals can produce fertile offspring, usually using sexual reproduction.
(c). Name any
two non-metallic minerals.
Ans:- Diamond & Graphite.
(d) Name the
atmospheric region farthest from the earth surface.
Ans:- Thermosphere.
(e) Give an
example of natural source of noise pollution.
Ans:- Thunder storm.
(f) State two
ways by which decomposers are useful.
Ans:-
Decomposers are useful in two ways:-
(i) They act
as natural scavengers. They help clean the environment by breaking down dead
plants and animals.
(ii) They help
in recycling of nutrients. They break down dead plants and animals into simpler
substances and provide nutrients back to the soil. This helps in maintaining
soil fertility.
(g) Name two
toxic gases emitted by industries.
Ans: Fluorine & Nitric oxide.
(h) Name the
biosphere reserve of Assam which is the home of golden language.
Ans: Manas.
(i) Which
State of North-East India is famous for uranium?
Ans: Meghalaya.
(j) Every
year on which date is the International Day for the Preservation of Ozone Layer
observed?
Ans: 16th September.
