structure among individuals of a population or species, which is important for
adapting to a changing environment.
(ii) Write the full form of SDRF.

(iii) What is food chain?

trophic level to another.

2. Write short accounts on (any five):
2x5=10
(a) Food web
Ans:- A food web is a complex network of
interconnected food chains that shows the flow of energy and nutrients through
an ecosystem. It shows feeding relationships between different species,
including producers, consumers and decomposers. Unlike a food chain, which
shows a linear path of energy transfer, a food web shows multiple interactions
between organisms at different trophic levels, providing a holistic view of
ecological relationships and ecosystem dynamics.
(b) Climate change
Ans:- Climate change refers to
significant long-term changes in global temperature and weather patterns. It is
primarily driven by human activities such as burning fossil fuels,
deforestation and industrial processes, which increase greenhouse gases in the
atmosphere. Climate change leads to rising sea levels, more extreme weather
events and ecosystem disruption, affecting biodiversity and human societies
worldwide. Urgent global action is needed through sustainable practices and
renewable energy to mitigate its impacts.
