CHAPTER SUMMARY
Environment is the sum
total of all external conditions and influences affecting the life and
development of living organisms. Environmental education is education through
the environment, about the environment and for the environment. Different
educationists have defined "Environmental Education" in different
ways. The objectives of environmental education are-awareness, knowledge,
attitude, skill and participation. Environmental education helps in organizing
learning experiences from simple to complex, definition to definite, concrete
to abstract, empirical to rational etc. The scope of environmental education is
so wide that it covers various aspects of nature-ecological, cultural,
technologies. Be economical, legal, educational and communal. Population
education is such a program through which the rate of increasing population,
the problems arising out of it, the solutions to the problems and their control
measures can be known. Different thinkers have defined population education in
different ways. Population education is a part of both human resource
development and environmental education. It is wider than sex education.
Population education is essential for the maintenance of quality life.
Population education should be implemented at all stages of education. Physical
education gives us knowledge about health (both physical and mental), its
hazards and diseases. It widens the scope of human capabilities, enriches the
life of the individual and the society as a whole. The aim of physical
education is the all-round development of a person including physical, mental,
moral, social, emotional etc. Physical education should be started at the upper
primary stage and continued till the end of a high school, i.e., class X. Value
expresses the importance that a person attributes to a particular activity or
experience or matters relating to his life. Value education is nothing but the
development of right habits, right attitude, sensibilities and characters of
the learner. It is concerned with the 'good' of each individual. It helps in
realizing the vision of the society. Different educationists have defined value
education in different ways. worth
Education helps
in the development of moral, social, aesthetic and spiritual aspects of a
person. It promotes social efficiency. In school, this education can be given
in both direct and indirect ways: Empowerment is a process that helps to
recognize the capabilities, abilities and strengths that are already present
within an individual. Women empowerment helps women to achieve
Their true
status and becomes equal to that of their male counterparts. Special measures
should be taken for women empowerment in educational institutions. Women should
be built up both in work and in social life. Know about your constitutional and
legal rights.
