The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) is a new board formed in 2024 by merging the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) and Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC). The Assam Assembly passed the bill to merge the two boards on February 7, 2024, and the merger was announced in June 2023.
